||The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the ISO 31000 Standard - Risk Management. Risk Management is a business practice that should be integrated into organizations at the strategic level.
The class is designed to walk the student through the risk management process to develop effective risk mitigation techiniques for some of the water industry's leading risks. These risks include: renewal and replacement of aging water infrastructure, financial capital improvements; public understanding of the value of water system services, long-term water supply availability, succession planning, vehicle and equipment operations, and system maintenance.
The student should leave this course with an understanding of how risk management will help their entity achieve its objective, take advantage of opportunities, and establish a reliable basis for decision-making.
